At St. Stephen’s, students receive Confirmation in the 10^th grade.  A student must attend at least two consecutive years of religious education prior to receiving the sacrament of Confirmation.  Every student preparing for the sacrament must bring a Baptismal certificate and a First Communion certificate to the Parish Office. Confirmation I and Confirmation II requirements are as follows:

Class Guidelines:

• No phones are allowed during class. Phones will be taken up at the beginning of class.
• Attendance is very important! Each student is allowed 3 unexcused absences per year. Students have a chance to make up one absence.
• After two absences, a courtesy email will be sent to the student's parents to inform them.

Confirmation I requirements:

• Students must attend Mass, even on Vacation. Sign in for Mass on Sundays.
• 20 Volunteer Hours: 10 hours at St. Stephen’s and 10 community hours.
• Attend one St. Stephen's Retreat and one outside Retreat (i.e. Search, Teen ACTS).
• Sign up for Remind 101: text @ssconfirm2 to 81010.
• Be active in at least one ministry, for example, serve as a lector, altar server or serve as an assistant for elementary religious education classes.
• Meet all other requirements set forth by St. Stephen’s to continue in the Confirmation process.

Confirmation II requirements:

• Students must attend Mass, even on Vacation. Sign in for Mass on Sundays.
• 20 Volunteer Hours: 10 hours at St. Stephen’s and 10 community hours.
• Attend one St. Stephen's Retreat and one outside Retreat (i.e. Search, Teen ACTS).
• Select a Confirmation Saint: Each student must choose a confirmation saint and write a one-page essay about their saint.
